Unusual surfaces

Theme: floral

I have done some research on a contemporary floral artist called Shyama Ruffell. She lived in Sussex and had a passion for pattern. Shyama studied textiles and later specialised in surface pattern. Here are some images of her work that inspire me:

From the images I have found out that Shayma Ruffell is more of an abstract floral artist. I can see this through the lines and shapes that she uses in her work.

The second artist that I have researched on is called Kaye Lake. The main paints that she uses are oil paints. She is best known for her bold floral paintings.

The paintings that Kaye has produced resemble the work that Georgia O’Keeffe has done. I can see this through the style of her paintings, the bold colours and shapes that are used.

The next artist that I have researched on is called Georgia O’Keefe. Georgia was well known for her enlargement of blossoms and painting in large formats. Here are some paintings that inspire me:

Georgia O’Keefe’s work is very bright and bold. Her paintings are almost photographic and very realistic.
